- Audio quality: They use an 11mm one-way dynamic driver. This delivers a balanced sound profile. Samsung's Seamless Codec provides higher-quality audio on compatible Galaxy phones. Other devices connect using standard SBC or AAC codecs.
- Active Noise Cancellation (ANC): The Buds3 FE's ANC is effective. It outperforms even the more expensive Buds3 Pro because of its sealed design. With a good fit, they can reduce outside noise by an average of 86% with ANC enabled.
- Battery and charging: The earbuds provide up to 6 hours of music playtime with ANC on. The charging case provides a total of up to 24 hours. They support wired charging via a USB-C port, but they do not support wireless charging.
- AI capabilities: When paired with a compatible Galaxy device, the Buds3 FE integrate with Galaxy AI. This enables features such as hands-free Gemini voice commands and real-time translation through the Galaxy AI Interpreter app.
- Connectivity and controls: The earbuds use Bluetooth 5.4 for a stable connection and have pinch and swipe gesture controls on the stem. They do not support true Bluetooth multipoint connectivity. They offer Samsung's Auto Switch feature for easy switching between Galaxy devices.
- Durability: The Buds3 FE have an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. They are suitable for workouts and light rain.
